Recent Los Angeles Lakers rumors involve LaVar Ball, as he made another outlandish statement about the future of his boys.
With the NBA Trade Deadline now passed, it would make sense for Los Angeles Lakers rumors to disappear. Unlikely to be players in the buyout market, the Lakers roster is probably set for the remainder of the season. However, recent Lakers rumors involve the roster of the team in a few years.
Everyone knows that LaVar Ball is as boisterous a person as anyone. He makes outlandish remarks and people eat it up. He has made appearances on ESPN and CNN. If there is a microphone to talk into, you can bet LaVar will.
Despite being across the world with his youngest sons, LiAngelo and LaMelo, LaVar is still making headlines stateside.
While talking with Lithuanian reporter Donatas Urbonas, LaVar shared his master plan to get all three of his boys on the same NBA team. His eldest son, Lonzo Ball, is in his rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers after being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
LaVar’s plan is to get them all on the same NBA team. According to what was shared by the Lithuanian reporter, he is prepared to go to great lengths to make it happen.
That is a bold proclamation by LaVar. He dreams of having his three boys back together on the same team, at this point are exactly that; dreams. LiAngelo, who is eligible for the 2018 NBA Draft, is unlikely to be selected. That would theoretically help him, as he could choose which team to sign with, but his NBA outlook isn’t great.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, there is ‘no change’ LiAngelo is selected. Wojnarowski adds that LiAngelo wasn’t on any extended lists for draft prospects upon leaving UCLA. Essentially, that means he isn’t a highly regarded prospect.
The youngest Ball brother, LaMelo, is a highly regarded prospect. He was a top prospect in the class of 2019 before heading overseas to begin his professional career. Like his brothers before him, he was set to go to UCLA.
However, LaMelo won’t be eligible for the NBA for another two years. He is only 16-years old, so he won’t be eligible until 2020.
This is not anything teams have to worry about for a few seasons, but getting all three Ball brothers on the same team won’t be an easy task unless LiAngelo and LaMelo both go undrafted.
This would hurt Lonzo’s outlook once he hits free agency. If LaVar is intent on getting all three on the same team, that would probably take a lot of teams out of the running. It is difficult making space for one player, let alone a package of three.

While Lonzo has shown promise in his rookie season, he will need to truly ascend in the next few seasons to have the kind of pull with management to get his brothers on the team. LaVar has said some outrageous things in the past, but this is near the top of the list.
