The Los Angeles Lakers are playing great during their five-game winning streak. Check out our takeaways from their road trip.

The Los Angeles Lakers have looked like a totally different team coming out of the All-Star break. They went into the All-Star break on a three-game losing streak. The NBA Trade Deadline caused some roster upheaval, and the immediate results weren’t great as the Lakers struggled.

Fast forward just over two weeks, and the Lakers have done a total 180. Since the All-Star break, the Lakers have been rolling. They are riding a five-game winning streak, which includes a perfect 4-0 on a road trip.

While some of the teams the Lakers faced during their road trip are more interested in gaining ping pong balls, such as the Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings, the last two victories were impressive ones. The Lakers wrapped up their road trip with a blowout victory over the Miami Heat and a come from behind win over the San Antonio Spurs.

For a young team, this run is impressive no matter who was the competition. The Lakers faced adversity at times because of injuries and faced some steep deficits. Nothing slowed them down, as they are playing some of their best basketball of the season.

The Lakers are one of the hottest teams in the NBA over the past six weeks. They are right up there with the likes of the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors for the best record in the league since the beginning of January. Since January 7th, the Lakers are an impressive 17-7.

While a playoff berth may not happen this season, the Lakers are building winning habits and a foundation for the future. With every passing day, they are looking more and more attractive to free agents given their play.

The road trip was a great one for the Lakers, as they excelled in multiple areas. Check out our takeaways for the Lakers from their four-game road trip.
