4. What the fans want outcome: Get Paul George and LeBron James
This outcome is what the fans want and is a real possibility in free agency. The Lakers feel that they have Paul George locked up already. That’s fine, but they want to win the gold by getting the best player in the world, LeBron James.
James is basically on another planet with the way he is currently playing in the playoffs. He once again proved why he deserves that title of being the best in the world.
With the possibility of James leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason after another drama-filled season, the Lakers could have everything the King is looking for.
The Lakers can offer youth on the roster that has potential in Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart just to name a few. They could have another star player in George, a player that James wanted the Cavs to trade for this past offseason. The big market in Los Angeles would also provide a chance to continue building his empire. That alone should be enough to convince the King to make the Staples Center his new kingdom.
Should the Lakers be able to pull this off, that would put them back on the map as one of the best teams in the league. They would talented enough to compete for at least the third seed behind the Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets. They could push even to the second seed depending on how the Rockets handle free agency this offseason.
