1. Grayson Allen, SG, Duke
Grayson Allen is a very interesting player. He has had some problems on and off the court but his play on the court has been outstanding while playing all four years at Duke.
Allen can play on or off the ball and can even take over at times running the offensive sets which is a plus. Allen averaged 15.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and almost five assists per game, shooting almost 42 percent from the field and 37 percent from 3-point range.
Allen is at his best when he is playing in pick-and-roll situations. He excels at that and it was a huge part of Duke’s offense. Allen is also not afraid of the big moments, as he has hit big shots in the past. That includes helping Duke win the NCAA Tournament a few years ago. Last season he took over in an early-season game against Michigan State.
If Allen hadn’t gotten into any trouble for his on-court shenanigans, he would be projected to go a little higher in the draft. He is currently projected to go in the late first round or early second round.
This is a player that the Lakers should be interested in and has already had a private workout with him.
