Mitchell Robinson has been rumored to be a potential target of the Los Angeles Lakers. Recently, we got to see some of his skills in a workout.

As we get closer to the 2018 NBA Draft, the Los Angeles Lakers have been doing their due diligence when it comes to scouting prospects. With some players deciding to return to college, that process did get a bit easier.

One of the players that the Lakers have been linked to and some reports have them making a promise to is Mitchell Robinson. Despite committing to Western Kentucky, Robinson never played in college last season. However, he was an elite prospect coming out of high school.

As a Top-10 high school prospect, Robinson decided that he would prefer to sit out of his freshman season and focus on preparing for the NBA. Recently, Mike Schmitz captured some video of what Robinson’s offensive game looks like.

Despite skipping on going to college, Robinson is a very appealing prospect coming into the NBA Draft. At 7’1”, Robinson obviously has the size to be a center in the NBA, but he also is able to move quite well for his size.

In the workout, Robinson is also shooting the ball from three-point range quite well, which makes him even more of an appealing prospect. Last season, the Lakers had one of the best three-point shooting centers in Brook Lopez, and that can create a lot of space on the floor in half-court sets.

While Robinson likely isn’t as good of a shooting from three-point range as Lopez is, it could be a weapon for him in a few years. In recent years, the Lakers have been drafting very well and have been using their late picks in the first round on players that have played multiple years in college. Robinson doesn’t fit that criteria, but he has a lot of potential.

Due to Robinson’s size, he might not even be around when the Lakers are on the clock. However, he could very well be on their radar at the end of the first round.
