1. Villanova G, Donte DiVincenzo

The Lakers did well in selecting a Villanova combo guard last year when they selected Josh Hart with the 30th pick. Why not go back to the well with another Villanova combo guard in Donte DiVincenzo?

DiVincenzo was a driving force behind the Wildcats winning the NCAA Tournament this year. He came up huge in the title game, pouring in 31 points against Michigan. When some of his teammates were struggling to get going, DiVincenzo put them on his back and carried them to the finish line for a victory.

Last season DiVincenzo averaged 13.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

DiVincenzo is a very skilled guard that can fill a number of roles. Like Hart before him, he fills the stat sheet on both ends of the court. Offensively, he can score at the rim with his athleticism or knock down jump shots. He is also a capable playmaker. Defensively, he can defend multiple positions given his size.

DiVincenzo decided to remain in the draft and is moving up boards. There is a chance he is gone before the Lakers are on the clock. Plenty of teams would love to add a player of his caliber to their roster. If he is on the board at No. 25, he should be the Lakers selection.
