Los Angeles Lakers guard Josh Hart continued his dominating performance at the Las Vegas Summer league against the Chicago Bulls.
The Los Angeles Lakers took home the Las Vegas Summer League title last year. Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart were quite a strong trio, leading the way. This year, Ball and Kuzma are not participating, but Hart is and he is looking to keep the winning tradition going.
Second-year players usually excel in the summer league, as we saw with Brandon Ingram in his single game last year. This year, it is Hart doing the dominating.
Hart has been dominant thus far this summer. In the California Classic, he scored 23 points in the opener, the only game he played a full allotment of minutes. In Las Vegas, he hasn’t slowed down.
Hart wasn’t expected to play more than a handful of minutes, but he seems to have talked himself into the lineup. That is exactly what he wants, telling us as much on Twitter, responding to our poll question.

We are hoping that the Lakers allow Hart to continue playing in games as well. Hart has not slowed down in Las Vegas. In the Las Vegas opener against the Philadelphia 76ers, Hart poured in 23 points to lead the way. On the second consecutive night of play, Hart once again led the way for Los Angeles.

While his shot wasn’t falling as much as in the opener, Hart found a way to put the ball in the basket. He scored 19 points, leading the team once again. While his overall shooting numbers weren’t great, as he went 5-of-15, he lit it up from deep. Hart knocked down 4-of-7 from 3-point land and 5-of-5 from the foul line.
In addition to the scoring, Hart also pulled down six rebounds, added three assists and had one steal. He finished the game with a plus/minus ratio of +20, which was only the fourth highest among starters.
It was a solid all-around game for Hart, who is showcasing his versatility this summer as the go-to scorer and lead defender. He is the unquestioned leader of the young Lakers in Las Vegas, setting a good example for his teammates.
