Stephen Jackson has put the full-court press on Kobe Bryant, recruiting him to join the BIG3.

Kobe Bryant has headlined numerous news pieces recently despite no longer playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. While his playing career has ended, other opportunities have arisen since he hung up his shoes.

Bryant has become an Oscar award winner and has a children’s book on the way. He has shared some experiences and worked out with players currently in the NBA, such as Kyle Kuzma and Jayson Tatum. Earlier this offseason, Shaquille O’Neal even said that Bryant would come out of retirement to play in the NBA again.

While a return to the NBA is unlikely, the Lakers are hopeful that he will return to the organization in some capacity. Jeanie Buss has been vocal about it, hoping that Bryant will become more involved. Recently, Buss isn’t the only one to try their hand at recruiting Bryant.

Former NBA player, and current member of BIG3, Stephen Jackson, has been recruiting Bryant to join the league full of former NBA players.

Jackson, a member of The Killer 3’s, was doing an interview with teammate Alan Anderson. They were asked a question by a reporter from Lets’ Get It Sports. The reporter asked specifically about Bryant and if he could handle the physicality of the 3-on-3, halfcourt league.

Jackson took this as an opportunity to recruit the Black Mamba.

Jackson isn’t the first person to try and get Bryant to join the BIG3. As Trevor Lane of Lakers Nation shared back in April, via The Cruz Show, BIG3 commissioner, Ice Cube, has been attempting to get Bryant to join as well.

"“I’m working him every chance I get. What’s cool about the BIG3, we’re here, so whenever he gets the itch, we’ll be here for him to ball out. Some guys, when they finish the NBA, they’re done. When they finish the NBA, they’re done. He played 20 years. But, he may get tired of winning Oscars and want to come play. We’ll be ready for him. … Whatever he wants to do with the league, we’ll make room for him, no problem.”"

That is a pretty clear message that if Bryant wants in, the BIG3 will be more than accepting of him. There are a number of players in the league that was great in the NBA, but none have the track record or name recognition of Bryant.

The BIG3 will be having their championship game August 24th, with Power, led by head coach Nancy Lieberman, facing off against 3’s Company, who is coached by former Laker, Michael Cooper.
