Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Josh Hart has noticed a new buzz surrounding the team since LeBron James was signed.
The Los Angeles Lakers made a lot of noise this offseason. Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka made good on their promise to land a superstar, signing LeBron James in free agency.
With James in Hollywood, the Lakers have changed the course of their franchise. Their playoff drought, which is at five years, should come to an end with James in town. Despite James signing a long-term deal, the rebuild in Los Angeles has officially been pushed up.
While it may take a little while for all the pieces to come together, a team that signed a player of James’ caliber is no longer rebuilding. They will be looking to win games and do some damage in the postseason.
While the Lakers may not yet be on the level of a true contender, they are on the way. Johnson and Pelinka have shown they are not afraid to make moves either if they believe it will improve the roster.

The Lakers are always a marquee franchise and big draw even though they have struggled in recent seasons. However, with James in town, there is now a buzz surrounding the team around the NBA and with their fans. It is something that Josh Hart recently spoke about.
Hart, who won the MVP award at the Las Vegas Summer League, will be battling for the starting shooting guard spot this season. Recently, he caught up with Spectrum SportsNet to discuss the new buzz surrounding the team.
Corey Hansford of Lakers Nation provided the quote.
"“There’s a buzz around this city like no other. Obviously, we signed this guy that some people might have heard of, by the name of LeBron James. We got other great veterans like Rondo, Beasley, JaVale, Lance. We’ve got a lot of great veteran guys mixing with the young core, so it should be something to watch.”"
The mixture of youngsters such as Hart, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and Ivica Zubac with veterans in Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, Lance Stephenson and Michael Beasley will be fascinating to watch. All of the veterans that were brought in have extensive playoff experience, something the Lakers young core lacks.
When you sign a player of James’ caliber, people will discuss it. When it is a franchise as recognizable as the Lakers, the media buzz around it will grow tenfold.
The last five years have been the toughest stretch in the history of the franchise. While they were tough times for fans to endure, they are at the light at the end of the tunnel with James in town.
Things will quickly turn around now that James is wearing the purple and gold, and Hart sees the difference this season compared to his rookie year in the NBA.
