– Round out his game

As a rookie, there was a lot to like about the Kuzma’s game. Right away, he showed an ability to score in multiple ways. Whether it was on the fast break or in the half court, Kuzma was able to hurt opposing defenses.

While we all know that Kuzma can score, his second season should be focusing on rounding out his game. Due to his size and speed, Kuzma has the potential to be a matchup nightmare as a hybrid forward.

This offseason, Kuzma has been focusing on working on his “guard” skills. Becoming a better ball-handler and passer will certainly not only help Kuzma, but the Lakers as a whole. Since the team likes to play fast, Kuzma being a better ball-handler and passer will make him even more of threat in transition.

In addition to rounding out his offensive game, improving on the defensive end is also important. If Kuzma is going to be closing out games for the Lakers, he will need to be a good rebounder and defender, as the Lakers could be playing some small lineups with James or Kuzma at center in the final minutes of games. Boxing out and working the glass isn’t the most glamorous thing to do, but it will help the team win games.
