The Los Angeles Lakers are hosting the San Antonio Spurs in their third game of the season. Check out our preview and live stream!
The Los Angeles Lakers suffered their second loss of the season in their home opener against the Houston Rockets. However, they lost a lot more than that.
Two members of the starting five, Rajon Rondo and Brandon Ingram, will be sidelined for multiple games stemming from their roles in the fight with the Rockets. Ingram will be suspended four games, while Rondo will be out for three. Rockets’ point guard Chris Paul will be suspended for two games for his role.
With two of their starters out of the lineup, the Lakers will need other guys to step up. It will not be an easy task, as they will be facing off with the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs come into the game with a 1-1 record and new-look squad. This will be the first time since the 90’s that the Lakers will face off with a Spurs team without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker or Manu Ginobili.

Ginobili joined Duncan in retirement, while Parker moved on and signed with the Charlotte Hornets. Kawhi Leonard is no longer in the picture as well, as he was traded to the Toronto Raptors.
DeMar DeRozan was the centerpiece of the return package and he has played well. DeRozan leads the Spurs with 28 points, 6.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
Los Angeles’ depth will be tested with the suspensions, but depth is one of their best assets. With Rondo and Ingram out, expect Lonzo Ball to step into the starting lineup. Kyle Kuzma could also be inserted into the lineup to replace Ingram.
With two players being taken away from the bench unit, other players could be inserted into the lineup. Michael Beasley and Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk are two options to soak up some of the minutes left behind by Rondo and Ingram.
