The Los Angeles Lakers dropped another tough game, this time to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the grades for the performance aren’t pretty.

The Los Angeles Lakers were back at full strength Monday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Unfortunately, being at full strength didn’t help as they lost yet another close game.

The Timberwolves defeated the Lakers 124-120. Los Angeles entered the fourth quarter with a one-point lead, but they were not able to hold onto that lead.

It was one two and a half minute stretch in the fourth quarter that did the Lakers in, as the Timberwolves rattled off a 14-4 run. That was the largest deficit faced in the game and ultimately proved too much to overcome.

As they have done too often this season, the Lakers did themselves in. Their defensive effort was inconsistent and they couldn’t rebound the basketball to close out possessions. Their shooting percentages weren’t great, either.

Six Lakers scored in double-figures, but that wasn’t enough to outscore the Timberwolves. Minnesota got the stops and timely baskets, having just enough to knock off the Lakers on their home court.

Karl-Anthony Towns picked an unfortunate time to have his best game of the season, as he scored 25 points with 16 rebounds, six assists, one steal and four blocks.

Jimmy Butler led the way for Minnesota with 32 points, including 15 points in the fourth quarter, which all came on 3-pointers. He added six rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks to round out a strong night.

This was yet another tough loss for the Lakers, as it was their third consecutive loss by four points or less. Once they build their chemistry and learn to play with each other, these are games that could easily turn into victories.

Let’s take an in-depth look at the game against the Timberwolves. Here are some grades for the Lakers.
