The Los Angeles Lakers finish up their back-to-back set hosting the Atlanta Hawks at the Staples Center.

The Los Angeles Lakers look like they are beginning to figure things out. After a tough start to the season, Los Angeles has now won two in a row and four of their last five to get back to the .500 mark. Tonight, they will look to break the .500 mark for the first time this season.

The Lakers are back at it less than 24 hours after defeating the Sacramento Kings in the Golden 1 Center. Los Angeles handled Sacramento with ease, defeating them 101-86. It was easily the best defensive performance of the season for the Lakers. Before that, the fewest points the Lakers surrendered was 110 points.

While the Lakers are getting things together, the Hawks have struggled, which was expected. Atlanta was projected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA this season, and they have not done much to change that outlook.

Atlanta comes into the game with a record of 3-9. They have lost three consecutive games, and seven of their last eight games. Shockingly, they reached the .500 mark quicker than the Lakers did, but they will have a long time to wait before they break the .500 mark like Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is hoping that this back-to-back set goes better than their last one. Last week, after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers on the road, the Lakers returned home and got blown out by the Toronto Raptors, who were without Kawhi Leonard.

The Hawks are nowhere near the Raptors class. Hopefully, this back-to-back goes more similarly to the first back-to-back of the season for the Lakers, when they defeated the Phoenix Suns on the road before returning home and knocking off the previously unbeaten Denver Nuggets.

This will be the first look that Los Angeles gets of rookie point guard, Trae Young. Young leads the team in points and assists per game. The Lakers’ backcourt will have their hands full chasing him around the perimeter, as he is not afraid to let it fly from all over the court.
