The Los Angeles Lakers host the Golden State Warriors tonight and we have all the information you need to enjoy the game!

The Los Angeles Lakers just finished up a difficult two-game road trip against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. The Lakers defeated the Thunder in overtime but lost to the Rockets in overtime.

The loss against the Rockets was more than just a mark on their win-loss record. The team also lost starting point guard Lonzo Ball to an ankle injury. Ball will be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a Grade 3 sprain of his left ankle.

Ball will join LeBron James and Rajon Rondo on the sidelines, meaning Los Angeles will be without their three best playmakers.

That many injuries are never easy to overcome. However, things will be especially difficult for the Lakers as their schedule remains difficult, starting with tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors.

Tonight marks the first of a four-game homestand for the Lakers and there aren’t many taller tasks than facing off with the Warriors. Add in the fact that the Warriors just got back DeMarcus Cousins, and they will be motivated from what happened on Christmas Day, the Lakers could be in trouble.

Without Ball, the Lakers will have to resort to Brandon Ingram starting at point guard. Josh Hart could be re-inserted into the starting lineup to take his place. Whoever is in the starting lineup will have their hands full against the Warriors.

The Warriors’ death lineup debuted against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night. It went very well, as the Warriors won 112-94. Cousins performed well in his first action of the season, scoring 14 points with six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in only 15 minutes.

Adding him to a lineup that already includes Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green is just unfair. They are the first team to start five All-Stars since the Boston Celtics teams of the 1970s.

The young Lakers picked up an impressive victory at Oracle Arena on Christmas, winning by 26. James, Rondo and Ball played, in some capacity, in that game. Can they replicate that performance despite being shorthanded?
