If the Los Angeles Lakers swing a trade prior to the NBA Trade Deadline, someone will be moved off the roster. These are the three likeliest Lakers to be moved prior to the deadline.
With the NBA Trade Deadline quickly approaching, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in a ton of headlines. When a superstar level player such as Anthony Davis asks for a trade, the Lakers always look to get involved, and this year is no different.
When Davis requested a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans, via his agent, Rich Paul, people began discussing the kind of trade packages Los Angeles could put together for the former Kentucky standout.
New Orleans isn’t going to make acquiring Davis easy for the Lakers, but he is not the only player the team may look to trade for. With injuries derailing the team since Christmas, Los Angeles could look to shake things up to help them get back into the playoff picture.
Throughout the season, the Lakers have been involved in numerous trade rumors. When the Phoenix Suns made Trevor Ariza available, the Lakers jumped into the fray, hoping to add the veteran sharpshooter to their wing rotation. His 3-point shooting and perimeter defense would have been an excellent addition.
Ariza was eventually traded to the Washington Wizards, but there are plenty of other players that could be made available between now and the NBA Trade Deadline on Feb. 7. Anything can happen, as deals can materialize quickly; just ask the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks, who completed a blockbuster trade involving Kristaps Porzingis.
Will the Lakers swing a deal of that magnitude, adding a second All-Star they have coveted? Or will they make a smaller deal to help round up the roster?
We will have to wait and find out! One thing we know for certain, though, is that if the Lakers do make a trade, some players will have to be sent out of town. These are the three likeliest Lakers to be on the move prior to the 2019 NBA Trade Deadline.
