3. Machado deserves it

Machado is six games away from completing his second consecutive season playing point guard for the South Bay Lakers. He could be playing overseas and making a ton of more money having both NBA and G-League experience as well as coming out of D1 program from his college career.

He has paid his dues, learned the Lakers system and has helped develop some of the best young talents the Lakers have had, including Ivica Zubac (traded) and Thomas Bryant (waived).

Last season, the Lakers pulled up Andre Ingram and he proved he could play in the NBA, wowing fans with his offense and defense, bringing a ton of heart to the organization.

Ingram is about a year younger than LeBron James, but the Lakers have not re-signed him yet this season even though Sports Illustrated and other outlets have run stories about Ingram. He is a bucket-getter and it is a shame that he hasn’t been signed by a team.

Same goes for Machado. It’s time he gets signed by a team. The Lakers have a roster spot and a few guards on the bench with season-ending injuries, such as Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram, who both have played at the one spot. He has earned the chance and deserves it.

Next. 2019 Season is not Luke Walton's fault. dark

LeBron could use some rest at the one position and can use Scottie because he can dish the ball and take some pressure off his shoulders. Plus, he will play seamlessly with Alex and Johnathan, not to mention Isaac Bonga (another Laker who plays with Machado in the G-League) and Mo. It’s time Lakers to do the right thing.
