Recent Los Angeles Lakers rumors involve point guard Lonzo Ball, who could be making a big change to his sportswear.

Los Angeles Lakers rumors are going to pick up in the coming weeks. With the playoffs no longer attainable, the Lakers will begin their offseason earlier than anticipated.

Soon, we will be hearing about different mock drafts and who the Lakers could be targeting in the 2019 NBA Draft. Free agent plans will begin coming into focus as well.

This offseason will be an important one for the Lakers. Will they be able to land another superstar to play alongside LeBron James? Will they get back into the Anthony Davis sweepstakes? It is all things to pay attention to, but the development of their own players is also something to keep an eye on.

One of those players to keep an eye on is Lonzo Ball. Ball has yet to have a regular offseason as an NBA player. As a rookie, you have events to participate in during the whirlwind leading up to and after the draft. Last year, Ball dealt with knee injuries, limiting the work he was able to do.

This year, Ball was shut down with an ankle injury that was suffered back on Jan. 19 against the Houston Rockets. Part of the reason for shutting him down was they hoped he would be healthy and ready to go for the offseason.

For the first time as an NBA player, Ball has a chance to get in real workouts to really improve in the offseason. Could he be doing it in different gear this time around?

There has been a lot of discussion about the shoes that Ball wears, his signature ZO2 shoes from Big Baller Brand. Could they be the source of his lower body injuries since entering the league?

The Lakers asked if the shoes could be the reason for the injuries. Ball doesn’t believe so, but if it ended up being true, it sounds like he would be willing to make a change.

Ball confirmed that he was asked about his shoes by the Lakers when talking to Ramona Shelburne and Paula Lavigne of ESPN.

"“Yeah, they talked to me,” Lonzo Ball told ESPN two weeks ago. “They asked me about it, and I told ’em, ‘I feel comfortable. If I wasn’t comfortable, I wouldn’t play in ’em. If I didn’t play in [his signature BBB shoes], I’d play in Kobe [Bryant’s signature Nike shoe]. I work out in [LeBron James’ signature Nike shoe], but that’s because they’re heavier.”"

There has been a lot of discussions about Ball and the Big Baller Brand recently. Ball has hinted that he could leave the family business in favor of Nike after it was revealed that co-founder, Alan Foster, has a criminal past.

This is something that will hopefully be resolved sooner than later. Getting his off-court life situated is very important for Ball having success on the court. The fewer distractions he has off the court, the easier it will be for him to focus on his game on the court.
