3. He’s a (really) good three point shooter

I already talked about this on the previous page, and like I said, for the most part, Bullock’s outside marksmanship translated well into the purple and gold.

In addition, we know how badly the Lakers need a few role players who shoot in the high-30s, if not in the 40s, from downtown. Kyle Kuzma struggled all year from deep, and although Josh Hart may someday become a good outside shooter, he also struggled for much of the season after a hot start. We also know how much Lonzo Ball sucks at hitting outside shots or simply hitting shots in general.

As a result, the team finished next-to-last in 3-point shooting percentage at an anemic 33.3 percent. Knowing this, they traded for Bullock.

Bullock also fits the bill in this sense because he’s an off the ball player. Throughout his career, 96.4 percent of his 3-pointers have come off assists, and 78.8 percent of his overall made field goals have been assisted on.

Many have said the Lakers need to surround LeBron James with off the ball type players who shoot a high percentage from downtown. After all, it’s been the blueprint for winning an NBA championship with him, first in Miami, and later in Cleveland.
