2. Kyle Kuzma‘s 41 points vs Detroit

I want to point out right now that I have a personal Kyle Kuzma bias.

He has been my favorite player ever since he impressed me with his excellent Summer League performance in his rookie year.

Ever since then, I have been rooting for Kyle Kuzma to be the future cornerstones of this franchise, and with him surviving the Anthony Davis trade, it looks like I might get my wish.

Kyle Kuzma has always been a relentless player on and off the court and that was one of the things that fascinated me the most about him.

In my opinion, he has the closest version of the Mamba mentality that I have seen on the Lakers since Kobe Bryant himself.

And on January 9, 2019, his arsenal was on full display as he torched the Detroit Pistons for 41 points in just three quarters including five 3-pointers.

He shot the ball well and was fairly efficient going 16-for-24 from the field guiding the Lakers to a 113-100 win over Detroit.

The Lakers had a record of 23-19 up to this point and were starting their descent downwards in the playoff standings. Every win or great performance from that point served as a nice distraction from the reality that without LeBron, the Lakers were inching closer to another playoff-less season.

But, unlike Brandon Ingram, we can at least look forward to hopefully more great games from Kyle Kuzma in the future.
