The Los Angeles Lakers continue their preseason with a game against the Brooklyn Nets overseas in China.

The Los Angeles Lakers got their preseason off on the right foot, defeating the Golden State Warriors 123-101. Now, they will take their show on the road, heading overseas to China for their next preseason game.

The Lakers are scheduled to play against the Brooklyn Nets in China, but there are questions about the game being played. The controversy between the NBA and China has made things tenuous, at best.

The NBA Cares events that the Lakers and Nets were supposed to take part in were canceled. CCTV will also not air the game between the teams as part of the boycott. Things have been tough for the teams, as practices were moved and other events they were expected to participate in were canceled as well.

There is still a chance that these games are not played. But, if they are, the fans in attendance will be watching an entertaining game between two teams that have some high expectations heading into the season.

The Lakers showed what could be with the pairing of LeBron James and Anthony Davis in their opener against the Warriors. Both looked great in the minutes they played, Davis especially. He was dominant, scoring 22 points with 10 rebounds.

The Nets made some big acquisitions of their own. As they look to stake a claim in the New York basketball market, they hit it big in free agency. Brooklyn landed Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. While Durant is likely out for the season because of the Achilles injury he suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals, Irving brings a lot of star power to the table for the team.

While it is only a preseason game, James and Irving led teams matching up will always be a big draw because of how things played out at the end of their Cleveland companionship. The Nets aren’t nearly as dangerous without Durant, but they are a team that looks to have improved upon the roster that made the playoffs last season.

Hopefully, this game is played. Not only would it be disappointing for fans who purchased tickets, but these are two teams gearing up for the regular season.

Traveling overseas is difficult enough. Going there and playing no games would put the teams even further behind the eight-ball in their preparations for the regular season.
