The Los Angeles Lakers take on the Golden State Warriors tonight in their fourth preseason game of the season. Here is all the information you need to know to watch and listen to the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers have returned stateside after their trip to China. Things in China were rocky, but the team is now returning home to the Staples Center and will look to get things back on track.
The Lakers lost both games they played in China against the Brooklyn Nets. They didn’t play well in either game as the Nets handled their business overseas. The first game was competitive, as it went right down to the wire. The second one wasn’t nearly as competitive.
The biggest takeaway from the second game was that Anthony Davis injured his thumb. Hopefully, that thumb injury isn’t anything serious as the team needs him to be healthy to be successful.
It is likely that Davis will not play in tonight’s game against the Golden State Warriors. That is disappointing for fans, as this is the first time the Lakers will be playing in front of their fans at the Staples Center this season. Not seeing Davis suit up is a disappointment. Another reason it is disappointing is that he absolutely dominated the Warriors in their first matchup.
Los Angeles kicked off its 2019 preseason with a game against Golden State. The Warriors were debuting their new homecourt, the Chase Center. The Lakers crashed that home opener, as they blew the Warriors out of the water.
Davis was a big catalyst in that victory, as he dominated the game. In his Lakers’ debut, AD scored 22 points with 10 rebounds. Keep in mind, he only played in the first half of the game.
While the injury isn’t expected to be serious, Davis will likely sit out tonight’s game. There is a chance that he sits out the remaining preseason games as well. Pushing him for exhibition games makes little sense with the regular season getting underway next week.
Davis isn’t the only player missing tonight’s game. LeBron James was also announced out, as the Lakers will be resting their dynamic duo tonight.
The Warriors will also be without Draymond Green and D’Angelo Russell. Both players will be resting tonight, but Stephen Curry is expected to suit up.
While there won’t be as much star power on the court tonight, this still presents an excellent opportunity for some of the Lakers players.
With Davis presumably sidelined, it is a chance for players such as Devontae Cacok and Kostas Antetokounmpo. Dwight Howard could also see extended minutes. Frank Vogel will have to go deep into his depth chart tonight with so many players sitting this one out.

The Lakers will look to even their preseason record at 2-2. Returning home should give the team an energy boost after some tense experiences in China that resulted in some listless performances against the Nets.
