Los Angeles Lakers fans anticipation for 2019-20 season at ballistic level
With the 2019-20 Los Angeles Lakers season beginning shortly, fans anticipation is reaching ballistic level.
Under normal circumstances, the phrase would be “anticipation is at a fever pitch” when it comes to the Los Angeles Lakers. But kids, these are not normal circumstances, nothing normal about them. Well, unless you go back to when the Lakers were stacked and going for a championship was the normal thing.
Those days are a distant memory as the team has been wallowing in the far downs and hasn’t even sniffed the sweet fumes of the playoffs in way too many years now. So trust me when I say, and most of you true fans will agree, this is way beyond the normal fever pitch. This is really serious ballistic, nuclear bombs going off kinda anticipation. Fans are excited, finally.
There are so many things to be giddy about, too. Yeah, the fact that we have two of arguably the top five basketball players in the world on the team is probably at the top of the “yay” meter. But, there is so much more.
Two solid centers in a frenzy to prove themselves, one of which on a mission to rekindle the love lost when he jilted us some years back. This is a good thing to have going on. The Lakers have guys who can actually shoot the ball and, yeah here it comes, guys who actually can play some defense. That isn’t something that could have been said for a while.
As much as fans were rooting for the “young core” to blossom and amaze us, this is better. Los Angeles actually has the makings of a real contender with this team.
Here are some of the things that bring excitement. Is Kyle Kuzma going to rise to that coveted “next level” and blossom into the third star? Can Avery Bradley put the kind of offense on the floor as he has been showing with defense so far in the preseason? What is the deal with Quinn Cook? The jury is still out on Alex Caruso, he has won fans but are any of them on the coaching staff?
Speaking of which, the coaching staff is still an unknown as far as how they are going to run the lineups and what sort of sets we are going to see once the season kicks in and things get down to business.

Does LeBron James still have it, I mean really have it? Is Anthony Davis ready to lead, or at least co-lead, this grouping of talented and unique players?
Is Frank Vogel the dude to make the engine purr? How will Jason Kidd fit into all this? Who is gonna play point guard, or at least check in at that position on paper? Is the perimeter defense gonna show itself? What combinations are going to gel and not gel?
There are so many solid pieces to this puzzle how long will it take for them to fall into their proper places? So much good stuff, and that’s the fun part. We got good stuff. Lotsa good stuff all the way to the end of the bench, whoever that will be?
So, fellow Laker fans, if you are like me then you are just quivering in anticipation of opening night. Shakin’ like a leaf on a tree and smiling like Magic Johnson on a fast break. James Worthy coming down one side, Byron Scott coming down the other and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar following.
You know something really cool is about to happen, you just don’t know what. And then bam, it’s showtime.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN.
