Los Angeles Lakers vs Utah Jazz: Game 2 preview, television and gambling information
The Los Angeles Lakers host the Utah Jazz in their home opener. Here is all the information you need to enjoy the game!
The Los Angeles Lakers had a tough start to the 2019-20 NBA regular season. They were the visitors in their own arena, as they were the road team against the LA Clippers on opening night.
The Clippers got the best of them in that game, winning the game 112-102. Now, in their official home opener, the Lakers will look to get into the win column for the first time this season as they host the Utah Jazz.
The Jazz come into the game 1-0, as they won their first game of the season against the Oklahoma City Thunder, 100-95. It was a prototypical game for the Jazz. They played stifling defense, holding the Thunder to 38.6 percent shooting from the field, and did just enough offensively to win the game.
Donovan Mitchell led the way, pouring in 32 points. New additions Bojan Bogdanovic and Emmanuel Mudiay both scored in double-figures as well, as Bogdanovic scored 16 in the starting lineup and Mudiay had 12 points with five assists off the bench.
The game would have been even more lopsided had their biggest acquisition, Mike Conley, found his range offensively. Conley struggled in his Jazz debut, shooting 1-of-16 from the field for only five points. You know he is going to be motivated to perform better in his second game.
For the Lakers, their newest acquisitions had strong debuts as well. Danny Green, not Anthony Davis, set the franchise record for most points in a Lakers debut with 28 points. He knocked down seven 3-pointers, six of which came in the third quarter.
Davis had a strong debut as well, pouring in 25, the second-most on the team. He finished with nine rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks, but looked to wear down in the second half after a strong first half.
LeBron James had 18 points with 10 rebounds, eight assists, one steal and one block, but he had five turnovers. Unfortunately, no other Laker player scored in double-figures, as the team relied on those three heavily with Kyle Kuzma still recovering from an injury.
