Jamal Crawford pointed out a flaw on the Los Angeles Lakers roster, and coincidentally, he could fill that void.

The Los Angeles Lakers are only two games into the 2019-20 NBA season, so it is still way too early to make any rash decisions. They have also had to face off against two of the best defensive teams in the NBA in the LA Clippers on opening night and the Utah Jazz for their home opener.

Los Angeles has yet to even have their full roster available for a game, including the preseason. Kyle Kuzma is recovering from a stress reaction in his ankle that he suffered during training camp with Team USA while preparing for the FIBA World Cup. Rajon Rondo has also missed the first two games of the regular season.

While we haven’t seen them at full strength yet, there have been some early season takeaways. The combination of LeBron James and Anthony Davis is a deadly one. However, the team lacks much playmaking beyond James with Rondo sidelined. Another scorer wouldn’t hurt, either.

Fans aren’t the only ones that are taking notice of what the Lakers could use more of during the season. Veteran free agent, Jamal Crawford, has also taken notice.

Crawford recently took to Twitter to breakdown what the Lakers could be missing despite their superstar duo of LeBron and AD.

It just so happens that Crawford perfectly fits the bill of what the Lakers are looking for. There isn’t any concrete evidence or rumors that the Lakers are looking to add another player to their roster currently, but if they were to dip back into free agency, Crawford would be someone worth taking a look at.

Despite being 39-years old, Crawford proved last season that he still has something left in the tank. He appeared in 60 games with the Phoenix Suns, averaging 7.9 points, 3.6 assists and 1.3 rebounds in only 18.9 minutes per game.

The final game of the 2018-19 regular season for the Suns is what everyone remembers. Crawford exploded for 51 points against the Dallas Mavericks, adding five rebounds and five assists.

That performance made Crawford the oldest person in NBA history to score at least 50 points in a game. He also became the first player to break the 50-point plateau for four different franchises. In addition to the Suns, Crawford also scored 50+ points as a member of the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors.

Crawford would bring a scoring punch to a Lakers bench that is lacking in that department. He is a capable ballhandler and playmaker, will keep teams honest from the 3-point line and is a great free throw shooter as well; two more areas Los Angeles is looking to improve in this season.

While Crawford would bring some positives to the roster, it remains unlikely that the team will pursue him. The roster is currently full, as they still have the injured DeMarcus Cousins on the roster.

At this point in time, the only player that the Lakers have been connected to is Andre Iguodala. Iguodala is on the Memphis Grizzlies but has no interest in playing for them and has remained away from the team.

Iguodala is hoping to land a buyout from the team, and if that happens, the Lakers are rumored to be the landing spot.
