Danny Green

With the Lakers main free agency target Kawhi Leonard signing with the Clippers, the Los Angeles Lakers had to move quickly to secure a starting-caliber wing defender.

They addressed this need by signing former Raptor and Spur and current NBA champion Danny Green.

The signing of Danny Green was met with widespread positivity throughout Lakers Nation.

Green joins the Lakers as a widely liked and respected veteran who is a perfect fit for what the Lakers plan on doing going forward.

In Danny Green, you get a great perimeter defender, as well as an elite 3-point sharpshooter.

During Green’s stints with the San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors, he has been able to hit big shots in clutch moments and has been an exceptional teammate.

Green does not require a huge amount of touches as he is perfectly capable of coming off screens or spot-up shooting.

So far this season Green has been average in terms of his shooting. With time on his side as the season is still relatively young, expect Green to go from strength to strength.

During a playoff series where the likes of Anthony Davis and LeBron James will be top billing, having someone like Danny Green who is happy to fill a role and do it at a high level will be very important.

His ability to be a help defender will allow LeBron to potentially take some plays off and conserve energy.

Green will be getting numerous wide-open shots throughout the season if he can hit them at a good rate then expect him to make a big impact not only in the regular season but in any playoff run.
