5. Lakers at the Miami Heat on December 13th

Every NBA fan knows LeBron’s history with the Miami Heat, he took his talents to South Beach, and started his championship legacy. Any time he returns to where he made so many memories is an enticing matchup and this should be no different.

To make it even more interesting, the Miami Heat have definitely been one of the most surprising teams to start the season. The addition of All-Star forward Jimmy Butler has sparked the Heat franchise and has lead them to an impressive 17-6 record and a top three seed in the Eastern conference thus far.

Butler has flourished being thrust back into the number one offensive option role that he once enjoyed while with the Chicago Bulls. Miami, as a result, has mirrored their successful one star teams that Dwyane Wade consistently lead to the post season year after year.

The wing matchup of LeBron James going against Jimmy Butler is enough to add intrigue to this game, but there are plenty of other players having solid seasons on both squads as well. Anthony Davis is having an MVP and DPOY caliber season, and rookie Tyler Herro is one of the leading candidates for rookie of the year, averaging 13.6 points per game.

A win against the Lakers could make the Heat believe they are title contender right now, and this is another great test for the purple and gold against a playoff caliber team. A win on the road at Miami, would be a big help towards getting a positive outcome out of their five game road trip that includes this game.
