5. LeBron James
This should come as a shock to nobody, but LeBron James is still really good at basketball. After a disappointing season for James last year, the #WashedKing is seeking revenge for all that doubted him.
In his 17th NBA season, LeBron James’ play is on par with some of his best years. LeBron is leading the league in assists per game with 10.7 per game, something even he has never done in his career.
The most surprising part about LeBron’s season thus far is the effort he is displaying on the defensive end. Spectators have become accustomed to seeing James coast on defense in order to conserve energy. However, after an unusual long offseason, LeBron appears to be refreshed and eager to lock up the opponent’s best player on a nightly basis.
LeBron James is making his case known for Most Valuable Player this season. According to NBA.com, James leads the team in net rating, something that is impressive for anybody let alone someone in his 17th NBA season. Each year fans wonder when number 23 will begin his decline, but King James is reminding people that he is still one of the best players in the league.
