Kyle Kuzma was in Lakers rumors before his trainer made his presence felt.

While Kyle Kuzma was lighting up the Staples Center on Christmas Day, most would see this as Kuz finally getting on track and finally taking his place as the third scorer for the Los Angeles Lakers.

No Lakers fans, it never seems to work that way. Balling out of your mind does not keep you out of trade rumors if the names LeBron James or Anthony Davis aren’t listed on the contract.

Has anyone seen Brandon Ingram play this year? No surprise. He was doing the same for the Lakers last year before the blood clot issue. Where did that get him? Traded.

Well for Kyle Kuzma according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, Kuz could be a possible asset around the trade deadline.

"The Lakers need a legitimate third scorer, ball-handling help and outside shooting. Kuzma is 24, is under contract for $3.6 million next season and, as he showed on Christmas, has a potentially huge upside. He is the young player teams would want if the Lakers pursue a major upgrade come February. The Lakers’ other chief potential trade chip is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who makes $8.1 million this season with a player option for $8.5 million next year. But he would have to approve a trade. Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka is interested in upgrading his team, but activity likely won’t come until closer to the deadline."

Lake Show Life has already dealt with the realistic options on the roster. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is not going anywhere. The only players the NBA GM’s will even consider is Danny Green and Kyle Kuzma. Green has a $15 million dollar contract that no one in their right mind will take with the lack of production to justify it. Kuzma is now in the spotlight. Especially after his performance on a national stage. Right now he’s the only option via trade.

Kuzma is averaging 11.9 points on 43.8% from the field this season. The problem is he can’t stay on the floor missing a chunk of the season and only averages 23 minutes when he does.

Does Clint Parks see the future ahead for Kuzma and is trying to get ahead of things by putting out narratives on social media to help Kuzma. If that was his intention, boy he blew it. The Lakers have seen this movie before and bought the t-shirt.

The Big Baller Brand t-shirt.
