Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Ways LeBron James can be more efficient in 2020
Stop taking ill-advised 3-point shots
While LeBron is shooting 34.2% from the 3-point line, which is right around his career average of 34.4%), he has taken numerous ill-advised shots from the 3-point line this season.
When you are one of the best players in the world, I suppose you can shoot the ball whenever you please. However, most of the time LeBron puts up these shots, numerous teammates are wide open.
LeBron during his time with the Heat and later with the Cavaliers realized the formula for him to win. Surrounding himself with 3-point shooters. People like Mike Miller, Kyle Korver, Kevin Love, and even J.R. Smith allowed LeBron to focus on collapsing the defense and fire the ball out to the open man on the perimeter for a wide-open 3-point opportunity.
While last season LeBron did not have the necessary players to adequately execute his gameplan, he does not have that excuse this season.
With the likes of Danny Green, Rajon Rondo, Quinn Cook, Avery Bradley, KCP, Alex Caruso, Troy Daniels Kyle Kuzma, Jared Dudley, and even Anthony Davis capable of draining a 3-point shot, LeBron should be dialing back his 6.3 3-point attempts a game to a lesser number.
If he can successfully do this, he might be able to get his teammates going on different nights and allow for the team as a whole to perform at a higher level.
LeBron’s focus is singular. Win more rings.
If LeBron can find ways to alleviate the stress on his body and fully prepare himself for the playoffs, then the entire league should be put on notice.
The “Washed King” hears all and see’s all. The rest of the league better watch out, the King is back.
