3. Anthony Davis

The Los Angeles Lakers changed the NBA landscape when they completed a blockbuster trade with the New Orleans Pelicans that culminated during the 2019 NBA Draft. Los Angeles landed star big man, Anthony Davis, for a treasure chest of assets, including Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and multiple draft picks.

While the price was steep, Davis has been everything he was advertised and more. He has been dominant on both ends of the court this season, averaging 26.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.4 blocks per game. Arguably the most important thing from those statistics is that they have come on an almost nightly basis.

There was no doubt that Davis was talented. The only true knock against him was not always being available because of injuries. Davis seems to deal with a nagging injury virtually every night. With the Pelicans, it resulted in missed numerous missed games. With the Lakers, he has played through those injuries, but there have been plenty of nagging ones throughout the season.

He has dealt with a sore shoulder, bruised buttocks, sore left elbow and a sore right knee, to name a few. This time off will be great for Davis to heal up and get back to 100 percent health for a potential playoff run.
