NBA Best Duos: 3. Milwaukee Bucks — Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton

  • Bleacher Report rank: First

The Milwaukee Bucks fall the farthest on our re-shuffling of the top-five duos in the league. While it is undeniable that the duo of Giannis and Middleton is great, they just do not stack up to the top two teams on this list.

The Bucks dominated the statistical categories that were used to rate the duos and benefited from the team as a whole being so dominant and both Giannis and Middleton playing most of the games this season together. They did not rank lower than third in any one category.

However, most of that is dominated by Giannis, who is likely going to win his second consecutive MVP award this season as he has been so dang dominant yet again. He somehow got better than he was last season.

That is not to say that Middleton is a bad second star, he was an all-star after all. However, because of Tatum’s explosion this season, I think Middleton is probably the worst player on this entire list.

Again, that is not a bad thing, as everyone else on this list is top-15 at worst, but Middleton does not have the same kind of impact that the other stars do.

For that reason, the Bucks get ranked third. Middleton is the perfect second star to put alongside someone as dominant as Giannis, which carries them to third, but is not enough to get them past the two best duos in the league this year.
