Los Angeles Lakers’ best fits for Kyle Kuzma: #1 Denver Nuggets

The Oklahoma City Thunder probably presents the best place outside of LA for Kyle Kuzma to spread his wings and reach his potential ceiling but for the Los Angeles Lakers, a deal with the Denver Nuggets would be the most doable and the most beneficial.

More from Lake Show Life

The Denver Nuggets are one of the Lakers’ main competitors in the Western Conference, which could hinder a trade, but making a trade that helps both sides is not the worst thing in the world.

The Nuggets are going to need a four with Paul Milsap hitting free agency after this season and getting a young, cost-controlled player in Kuzma would be great for the team as it prepares to pay Jamal Murray his new contract extension.

The Nuggets also have the perfect asset for the Lakers to pursue in backup point guard, Monte Morris. Now, there might be some hesitation to trade Morris from the Nuggets and their fans, but there are reasons why it is doable.

Murray is the team’s franchise piece and should progressively be getting more minutes as his career goes on as a result. With Morris’ contract expiring after the 2021 season, like Kuzma’s, it makes more sense to flip him for an asset that would better suit the team’s needs, like Kuzma, than hold onto Morris.

The intriguing part, as far as the Nuggets are concerned, is that I would not even be surprised if the Lakers offered to throw in some second-round picks or one of those future first-round pick swaps as well.

The Lakers would be getting a sharpshooting point guard that would fit perfectly in the offense that the team is running and could look to make him a cost-controlled asset as well.

Morris is a career 39.8 percent shooter from beyond the arc and is a point guard that could play off-ball with LeBron as well as take the ball up court when LeBron is on the bench.
