1. Montrezl Harrell

Montrezl Harrell is a firecracker type of player that plays with an energy that most NBA players cannot match. The Lakers need this type of player. The rival Los Angeles Clippers will likely do anything they can to secure him considering they hold his Bird rights, but the Lakers could top anything with their immense cap space if Anthony Davis bolts.

Harrell has won a Sixth Man of the Year and could thrive in an even more expanded role with the Lakers. He is currently playing 27.8 minutes per game for the Clips, but if that were bumped up to 30-32 minutes, the Energizer Bunny in Harrell might be able to get fully unleashed.

Out of all five players list, Harrell fits the Lakers the best due to his ability to not get played off the floor in crunch time. He is capable of playing the four and the five, but the Lakers would likely ask him to play the latter more often. This could be the guy.

Recap

All in all, the Lakers will be best suited if Anthony Davis stays in Los Angeles. If the Lakers are able to make a deep run in the playoffs this season, that might be the icing on the cake.

Davis obviously loves playing alongside LeBron James and his play shows it thoroughly. He is confident, happy, and excelling in Los Angeles under the bright lights. It would be a stunning upset to see him go elsewhere, but anything can happen. There are some formidable options to help replace him, but you cannot fully replace him.

He’s Anthony Davis. He will deserve every single dollar he receives in his super-max contract this summer which hopefully is signed by Jeanie Buss and the Lakers organization.
