Los Angeles Lakers superstar target: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Why not replace the face of the NBA for the last 15 years with the face of the NBA for the next 15 years in Giannis Antetokounmpo?

I don’t think anyone could have expected Giannis to be the player he is today when the Milwaukee Bucks drafted him 15th overall in the 2013 draft. I don’t even think the Bucks believed he would turn into what many consider the best player in the NBA.

At 25 years of age, Giannis is the best player in the entire NBA, without a shadow of a doubt. People can say, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, James Harden, and even Kevin Durant as much as they like but nobody is doing what Giannis Antetokounmpo is doing on both ends of the floor.

In Giannis Antetokounmpo, you get a genetic freak on par with prime LeBron James. Standing at an incredible 6″11, Giannis is the rarest breed of player. He can easily play every position on the floor and do it at an All-NBA level.

He can run the floor in what seems like 4 or 5 steps and drops down thunderous dunk after thunderous dunk without nobody seemingly able to stop him. In the post, Giannis can dominate you using his physical abilities or he can simply use his ever-evolving bag of tricks to get to the bucket.

If Giannis ever becomes a good 3-point shooter, I don’t think there is a player in the entire NBA past or present who would be able to lock him up. With his size and length, it is almost impossible to block his jump shot.

While Antetokounmpo is rightly praised for his stellar offensive game, he has quickly developed into one of the top 3 defenders in the entire NBA.

This season it wouldn’t be a shock to anyone if Giannis Antetokounmpo was to win both the Defensive Player of the Year as well as the Most Valuable Player Award.

His ability to guard every position, his foot speed, length, IQ, and tenacity have turned him into a juggernaut on the defensive side of the floor.

The closest player to do what Giannis Antetokounmpo does on both ends of the floor? Anthony Davis.

The Los Angeles Lakers would have the scariest pairing in living memory and that is saying a lot when the Lakers currently have Anthony Davis and LeBron James on the same roster!

You can bet that the purple and gold will do everything in their power to try and persuade Giannis Antetokounmpo to come to LA in the Summer of 2021.

If they succeed, the entire NBA needs to watch out.
