It doesn’t matter if Alex Caruso stinks up the Orlando bubble, he will be held in a higher standard than Lou Williams!

ESPN’s Zach Lowe reported recently that Alex Caruso decided to skip his sister’s wedding in Texas. With COVID-19 starting to spike in the state, Caruso did not want to take the chance and deal with the re-quarantining process would likely have lasted 10 to 14 as the wedding was considered a high-risk event. The quarantine would have kept him out of the scrimmages and possibly some games after the season resumed.

Alex Caruso said that the Lakers had no problem with him going.

"“They supported my decision either way,” Caruso said. “They also helped me realize how important I am to what we are trying to do here, now that [Avery Bradley] didn’t make it and [Rajon Rondo] hurt his hand. There is some added responsibility.”"

Frank Vogel’s statement on the situation.

"“We’ve all made great sacrifices and we’ll make bigger sacrifices the longer we’re in here. Again, the longevity piece is the biggest piece of being away from our families. But to miss something like that, it just doesn’t feel good and we respect the fact that he made that kind of sacrifice for what we’re trying to get accomplished.”"

Remember when Los Angeles Lakers sideline reporter Mike Trudell went on record saying Alex Caruso was a better player than Lou Williams on an episode of the Strictly Buckets Podcast last month?

"“I think [Alex] Caruso is better than Lou Williams, just straight up. Most people are not going to accept that argument, but he is a ton better defensively, like where it’s not even close, and Lou, for him to be effective offensively, he has to have the ball running screen roll the whole time, which means that Paul George and Kawhi [Leonard] don’t have the ball… I genuinely think a lot of coaches might secretly recognize that.”"

It didn’t take Lou Williams to respond to that statement.

At the time, it looked Mike Trudell set himself up for a huge helping of crow to eat. But now that Lou Williams’ investigation is going on, anyone want to relive this discussion?

After Lou Williams broke protocol and tried in perception to cover it up, Alex Caruso will be a media darling no matter what his stats say at the end of the season.

While he sacrificed spending time with his family at his sister’s wedding for his team, Lou Williams could have potentially sacrificed the season by going to a gentlemen’s club for chicken wings. Worst case scenario, Williams can be sent home for the season without pay.

Hopefully, Dwight sees this PR scenario and wakes up.
