The Los Angeles Lakers have the Portland Trail Blazers in the palm of their hand.

Game 4 of the series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers is fast approaching, with the Lakers currently holding a 2-1 series lead. In ordinary circumstances, a 1 seed vs. 8 seed matchup would barely elicit a murmur.

However, with the Blazers’ extraordinary run of form in the bubble, culminating in not only a playoff berth but with Damian Lillard winning bubble MVP, most people didn’t see them as an ordinary 8 seed.

Combined with the Lakers’ shooting struggles in the bubble, a lot of people expected for Portland to make it a close series and some (such as Charles Barkley) predicted a dominant series win.

Once the matchup was announced, I predicted a Lakers win, but also predicted the series going to 7 based on the recent form of both teams. However, after what I’ve seen in the three games thus far, I don’t expect the Blazers to win another game this series.

In this article, I’ll discuss the three reasons why I expect this series to finish 4-1 in favor of the Lakers.
