Los Angeles Lakers’ third star

The Lakers have been crying out for a 3rd star since LeBron and AD landed in LA. Kawhi Leonard was the main target, then Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and even D’Angelo Russell.

Unfortunately, the Lakers were unable to land these players.

When it comes to players like Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving, they might be unwilling to be the 2nd option to LeBron James on a given night and would rather be the main guy on their own team.

With Buddy Hield, that problem does not exist.

Hield will know his place as the 3rd and sometimes even 4th option on the team depending on how Kyle Kuzma or potentially DeMarcus Cousins is playing.

Out of Hield, Kuzma, and Cousins, at this point in their careers, it would be Hield who would be considered the 3rd star right now.

With Kuzma still learning his craft and ever-improving and Cousins working his way back from numerous serious injuries, it makes sense that Hield is the defacto 3rd star as he is in his prime, is shooting the ball incredibly and is capable of scoring 20PPG.

Hield would not be a problem as the 3rd star, he would know his place within the team and work his ass off to be the perfect 3rd guy
