Los Angeles Lakers: LeBron out early, Butler leads Heat upset, 5 Lessons
By Ronald Agers
The Miami Heat prevented the Los Angeles Lakers from going up 3-0 in the NBA Finals.
The Los Angeles Lakers were believed to sweep the NBA Finals. The Lake Show Life Lessons staff was supposed to chant “1-2-3 Cancun!” on Tuesday! Oh, well it seems that Jimmy Butler, aka Jimmy Buckets, was giving them out in a surplus!
The Los Angeles Lakers fanbase will be blaming a lot of the roster for this listless performance in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The next 48 hours will be quite ugly for a few players who had their struggles in Game 2.
- Will it be Anthony Davis? The superstar who followed a historic two-game Finals run with a foul trouble riddled performance?
- Will it be Danny Green? The $15 million CEO of a basketball masonry convention from the 3 point line?
- Will it be his backcourt mate, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope? Two games, two shots off the backboard that would make Paul George say…”Dang!”.
- Will it be Kyle Kuzma? Most bets go to him because for some reason Lakers fans love to hate him. Did you know there is a official petition out with over 5,000 signatures NOT to give him a ring?
Nope. The blame can rest here at Lake Show Life. Ronald Agers. Yes, it’s his fault. See it was a LaVar Ball style “Speaking it into existence” of analysis in the last post-game report. Anthony Davis had done a great job on the defensive end and Butler was involved.
"Jimmy Butler was bothered all night even though he finished with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists. Most of the night, Butler was looking over his shoulder passing up shots worrying about AD. Butler has to score 40 points for any chance for a Heat win in this series."
Sorry about that.
- Well, Jimmy Butler didn’t dance like Damian Lillard.
- He didn’t scream out profanities like Russell Westbrook.
- He didn’t do a shimmy shake like Jamal Murray.
He just stormed up the court after taking Markieff Morris to the rim just saying three words.
The Miami Heat made it a series with a shocking 115-104 victory to extend the series to at least Thursday night.
Here’s how you are going to notice a Lakers casual and Lakers fan. The casual will think the Lakers will get mad and shut down Jimmy Butler like the rest of the players listed above. (Read the comment section after a couple of hours, they’ll be there!).
The writer’s favorite player is Jimmy Butler. If the Lakers believe that scenario, there will be a 2-2 tie on Tuesday night. Jimmy Butler said this is what he had to do and just walked on the floor and did it. This dude is different.
For Miami to win, they had to play like this. Without Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic, this was about the best game the Heat could have dreamed of under the circumstances. On the other hand, this was just as bad as the Lakers could have played against a shorthanded Heat squad missing two starters.
The Heat played VERY hard for 48 minutes while the Lakers played very like a team that thought they could turn it on at any moment. They didn’t and the Tuesday traveling plans are over. The team has to stay in Orlando until the end of the week.
Lake Show Life will call out LeBron James. What were you thinking?
As the seconds ticked off the clock with Game 3 coming to an end, LeBron James left the floor early, leaving the Lakers without a fifth player so the Heat could inbound with 0.7 seconds left. It kind of gives a reminder of a Walt Frazier statement about leadership last year in New York.
Markieff Morris came out eventually, but this is a bad look. Sure this was a bad loss in which he was one of the few Lakers that actually showed up. But if he can smile and grin when things are good, he can’t storm off after a whipping. Especially when you tell Jimmy Butler “You’re in trouble” in the first quarter.
