2. Atlanta Hawks

Again, we may see more teams that are not bonafide title-contenders in the market for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and this is another example. The Atlanta Hawks are another young team with future potential that has one of the most exciting guards in the game, Trae Young.

While Young is electric on the offensive side of the court is he one of the worst defenders in the entire league. The Hawks would benefit from some added defensive presence in the backcourt and KCP is someone who could play point while Young is off the floor or could be the two alongside Young.

Despite having Young, the Hawks are going to need to fill out some depth in the backcourt. Veteran guard Jeff Teague is hitting the free-agent market and is going to sign with a contending team, not with a team like the Hawks.

The team has Kevin Huerter as the starting two and while he is a role player, the team is really hurting in the depth department behind Young and Huerter. If there is one thing that the Hawks could really benefit from it is a third, veteran guard that can play 20-25 minutes per game and provide a defensive presence.

That is exactly what KCP provides.

The Hawks have a lot of cap space and can afford to pay KCP now before having to pay some of their young stars once their rookie contracts are up.
