3. Courtney Lee

Courtney Lee is a savvy veteran, one that has made a living off of being a good 3-point shooter. He also plays hard on defense and has become an above-average two-way player.

Lee has made close to $75 million in his career. At age 35 he might be inclined to now start going after a ring. The Lakers provide a great opportunity at that and can pay him a reasonable salary with the bi-annual exception.

With Lee, you can give him two years and that comes out to a little over $7.2 million. He has shot close to 39% in his career and his game has never been built on athleticism. So stretching the deal out to two years won’t backfire on them.

He will provide a solid scoring boost for the Lakers and space the floor for the team. He has starting experience, bench experience and postseason experience. So the Lakers get all of it in one player that there are no training wheels on, he is ready to win right now.

With a career shooting line of 45.1/38.8/85.3, the bi-annual exception is a steal. Especially with teams gearing up for the 2021 free agency. This becomes a steal for the Lakers.
