The Los Angeles Lakers should be interested in trading for Jrue Holiday.

The NBA in the midst of the shortest offseason in league history. It feels like just yesterday LeBron James was hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy at Disney World, yet we’re 10 days from the draft and 45 days from tip-off at the time of writing.

This means that the offseason rumor mill is churning at a lightning speed.

To nobody’s surprised, the defending champs are right in the thick of seemingly every proposed signing and trade.

One frequently speculated move that’s caught my eye more than any other realistic target is a trade to bring New Orleans Pelicans Jrue Holiday to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Our very own Jason Reed touched on some of the reasons why Holiday would be a better fit than another frequently speculated target, Victor Oladipo.

Jrue has long been one of my favorite non-Laker players in the NBA, and after mulling it over, I think he’d be the perfect third star for the team, one that’s a somewhat realistically attainable target.
