#1: Intangibles and Off the Court Fit

The final and possibly most important way that Montrezl Harrell will fit with the Los Angeles Lakers are intangibles and off-the-court aspects. These are not really things that you can measure, however, with a franchise that is as close and tight knit as the Lakers, it is arguably the most important.

Harrell is best described as a player that you love if he is on your team but you hate him if you are playing against him. This is due to reasons previously mentioned, like his ferocity on defense.

However, also on the defensive end, he plays with such a high motor and energy that it is infectious and spreads to everyone on the floor with him. This will cause him to fit right in with the Lakers.

They are a team that is close enough that they are not scared to be vocal with each other. Whether that be communicating on defense or calling each other out when they are doing something wrong or not playing to their highest level.

This is something that would not work on all teams, however, it is the system in which Harrell would fit in the best.

Another aspect of Harrell’s game which would make him fit in great with the Lakers is his ride or die attitude. Harrell is often the first player to help pick a teammate up. Along with this, he is often the first player to escalate things or defend a teammate when they are shoved or involved in an altercation.

This us against the world attitude is something that fans love to get behind and most players love to play with. Although the Lakers have lost some players this offseason that played both big roles on the team and in the locker room, players like Montrezl Harrell will replace and maybe even improve.
