The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a great start, currently tied for the most wins in the NBA with the Utah Jazz. At the time of writing this, the Lakers are riding a seven-game winning streak, and while some of the wins were ugly, wins are still wins at the end of the day.
This is no surprise to Laker fans. The Lakers were the favorites to win the NBA Championship entering the season and they still look like the best team to make a run for championship no. 18.
Sure, the Jazz are half a game better and some may consider them as legitimate threats to the Lakers, but I don’t. I don’t think the Jazz are a threat to the Lakers whatsoever and in a playoff series, the worst-case scenario I could see is a definitive six-game series win for LA.
But I digress.
The Lakers may not be a surprise but they certainly have had surprising performances thus far this season. We all knew just how deep the Lakers were heading into the season, so the fact that some players could still surprise us is an indication of just how good this team is.

At the end of the day, these players are still surprising. Let’s dive into it.
