3. Alec Burks

Alec Burks would have the biggest role of the three on the Los Angeles Lakers

Of the three players listed in this article, it is clear that Alec Burks would have the biggest role in Los Angeles. Burks currently has the biggest role of all three players on his respective team and is someone who consistently averages over 20 minutes played per game.

He is also the most well-rounded player on this list. He is just as good of a three-point option as the other two but he can do more offensively and is a better defender. Burks is not a great defender, but he is not a bad defender in the slightest.

Burks is shooting 40.9% from beyond the arc this season on 4.9 attempts per game. He is playing 25.5 minutes per game with the New York Knicks and is averaging 11.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

What makes Burks more valuable as well is the fact that he can give the Lakers another wing to come off the bench. Kyle Kuzma has been better and has impressed me, but the wing depth on the bench can be improved. Burks is someone who can play the three and hold his own against other forwards.

If Burks proved to be a great fit then he should take all of Markieff Morris’ minutes and then would probably take Talen Horton-Tucker’s minutes in the playoffs if the team does not think he is ready to be a playoff contributor.

Burks’ contract is for $6 million, so the Lakers would have to package several players. A package of Jared Dudley, Alfonzo McKinnie, Devontae Cacok and a future second-round pick should be enough for half a season of Burks.
