Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Lessons in ugly loss to the Phoenix Suns
By Ronald Agers
Dennis Schroder had his first subpar game since returning to the Los Angeles Lakers lineup.
To understand the analysis here is to understand the concept of how COVID-19 has affected some of the teams around the league. For now let’s go back earlier this season when Alex Caruso got placed in the NBA Health and Safety protocols.
Remember how hot Alex Caruso was shooting at the time before he was sidelined? He was the league leader on 3 point percentages. Since he returned, his jumper has not been as good. Hopefully Schroder does not lose his shooting rhythm like AC Fresh did.
For the second straight game, Dennis’s shot was off from the field. Schroder scored 17 points but he only shot 6-17 from the field. Coupled with the 3-9 shooting a couple of nights ago, it’s something to watch out for.
Dennis Schroder made it known that he wasn’t happy sitting out and this is why. Basketball is a rhythm sport and one week off makes a very big difference in one’s shooting stroke.
But even though his shot is not falling lately, it does not stop him from looking for his shot which is something that his teammates had major problems doing while he was gone.

But he did make plays on the court dishing out 6 assists and grabbing 3 rebounds. If you Lakers fans have any criticisms about how Schroder played in this game, save them for another day. His time off has affected his game and we all should be patient with his shot. Whether his shot is on or not, the Lakers are worlds different when he is in the lineup.
Speaking of Schroder’s teammates, let’s discuss the backcourt. Man does it need work. Granted Schroder’s absence hurt during the four game losing streak, but the fact still remains that some of the guards on this roster just aren’t playing well at all. Read on and see who is pulling their weight and who isn’t.
