2. The Indiana Pacers have no reason to even trade Myles Turner

Of course, this could change if the Indiana Pacers get some insane offer for Myles Turner that sweeps them off their feet, but as it stands, there is no reason for the Pacers to even explore trading Myles Turner.

Turner is a positive part of the Pacers’ roster and is the team’s only real center. It is not like Turner is blocking someone younger that needs to get playing time. He is the young center and is still under contract for another two seasons.

This is not even a case of the Pacers just trading an expiring contract and getting whatever they can for it. Turner is a relatively cheap asset for the Pacers for the next two seasons.

It would be different if the Pacers were near the top of the draft and were committed to tanking but that is not the case. Indiana is currently 17-21, and while that is not great, they are not in the conversation for the first overall pick.

The Eastern Conference is thin and the Pacers could easily get hot and even win a playoff series. Caris LeVert has finally suited up for the team and a starting five of Malcolm Brogdon, LeVert, T.J. Warren (who is currently hurt), Domantis Sabonis and Turner is a good starting five to build around.

The Pacers would need a fantastic offer in order to even consider it and the Los Angeles Lakers cannot offer that. Don’t worry, the Los Angeles Lakers are just fine, though, which hammers home the point that they won’t trade for Turner.
