The Los Angeles Lakers are currently down 1-0 in the first round of the 2021 NBA Playoffs against the Phoenix Suns. The Lakers fell to the Suns in Phoenix in what was an ugly game, scoring only 90 points in the process.

While the game was certainly ugly, there is absolutely no reason to panic if you are the Lakers. The Lakers are the defending champions for a reason and we must remember that this is a seven-game series, not a one-game play-in series.

The Lakers will be fine but that does not mean they have been perfect thus far. Frank Vogel has been stellar with making adjustments, especially in the playoffs, and there are definitely some adjustments that the team should make.

In particular, there are players who need to start getting minutes in the Los Angeles Lakers playoff rotation.

The worst part about the Lakers’ injuries was not the team’s final record, it was Vogel’s inability to truly see how these pieces work together on the court. In a way, Vogel is learning on the fly and should definitely be malleable when it comes to the rotation itself.

This means giving some players actual playing time, which will take away from the playing time of the other players on the team. Here are two players that Frank Vogel needs to start including in the playoff rotation if the Lakers are going to make a deep run.
