There have been Kyle Kuzma trade rumors surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers ever since LeBron James signed with the team three years ago. Kuzma has stood the test of time, staying on the roster to win a championship while the rest of the young core departed.

However, now seems like as good a time as any for Kyle Kuzma to be traded. His salary has increased to $13 million, making him a much easier figure to move in a deal. With the Lakers falling short in the NBA Playoffs, and Kuzma not particularly being great the past two years, it isn’t hard to talk yourself into a Kuzma deal.

Kuzma seems to be talking himself into a trade this offseason as well. The Instagram page Ball Don’t Stop posted a video of Kuzma dropping 41 points in three quarters back in 2019, commenting that the league is all situational and that he had to take a back seat to LeBron and Anthony Davis. The post ends saying Kuzma will return to his true self soon. Kyle Kuzma agrees, as evident by his pinned comment on the post.

For those that cannot see in the post, Kuzma commented “Sooooon” with the shushing emoji.

Is Kyle Kuzma hinting at being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers?

That is how it appears. While Kuzma has never been someone who was short on confidence, the fact that he commented on this post that explicitly says he has taken a backseat to LeBron and AD is telling. This isn’t a post about him developing, it is a post about him “going back to his true self”.

As far as I am concerned, LeBron and AD are not going to be traded this offseason. Unless the Lakers are looking into an absurd deal like Colin Cowherd suggested, LeBron and AD are going to be in LA next season.

Kuzma is not going to suddenly jump up to being that true third option in his third season and because of his position, he is still going to take a back seat to the superstars. If Kuzma thinks that he is suddenly going to get a bigger role in the rotation after last season then he is a bit delusional.

This tells us that he knows a deal is possible. These guys know the rumors, they read the tea leaves and he has seen his former teammates get traded away. Kuzma knows it is possible and he is seemingly hinting at it happening this offseason.

Plus, we cannot forget the fact that he took the Lakers out of his Instagram bio, which now just says NBA Champion. As silly as it may seem to talk about a player’s Instagram, these things absolutely connect.

dark. Next. 1 trade target from each non-playoff team

So don’t be shocked if Kyle Kuzma is traded from the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason. We know Kuzma won’t be.
