February 2 vs. Portland Trail Blazers: Win

This contest is not as close as the first two games as the Los Angeles Lakers’ talent is just too much for the Trail Blazers.

February 3 vs. Los Angeles Clippers: Win

A back-to-back against the Clippers would normally be tough but not having Kawhi Leonard really changes things. Not having to travel helps as well as the Lakers win this back-to-back against two teams with stars.

February 5 vs. New York Knicks: Win

Again, the New York Knicked overachieved last season and won’t reach that level of success again this season. This is a relatively easy home win for the Lakers.

February 8 vs. Milwaukee Bucks: Win

The Lakers get their revenge against the Bucks after having two full days to rest before hosting the defending champions.

February 9 at Portland Trail Blazers: Win

The same Portland team that could not overcome the Lakers’ talent a week prior gets two things in their favor in this one as they catch the Lakers on a back-to-back as well as getting to be the home team. That makes it close, but not close enough.

February 12 at Golden State Warriors: Loss

I would assume that the Lakers fly home from Portland after the game on the ninth then fly up to Golden State on the 12th considering it is only an hour and a change worth of flight time. That back and forth is not ideal and the Warriors are probably going to be the second or third best team in the West next season.

February 16 vs. Utah Jazz: Win

The last game of the first half is against a Utah team that the Lakers will still match up well against and will still get the W against.

MUST-READ: 3 Lakers at risk of disappointing next season

February 25 vs. Los Angeles Clippers: Win

The Lakers get some much-needed time off and once again, Kawhi Leonard shouldn’t be active for this one. As well as the Clippers have played the Lakers the last two years it is really hard to see them beating a well-rested Lakers team and that is a great thing.

February 27 vs. New Orleans: Win

This game is going to be really fun with Zion Williamson vs. LeBron James but the Pelicans really fumbled the bag after the AD trade despite lucking out and getting Zion. The team is not as good as it should be, unfortunately for basketball.

Los Angeles Lakers record through February: 47-13
