The Los Angels Lakers roster has a completely new look for the 2021-22 season than it did for the 2020-21 season. There are only four players returning from last year’s team after the Lakers pulled off the massive Russell Westbrook trade and signed various role players.

Prior to the season, it is easy to look at the best possible scenario for each role player and expect that to happen. It is part of fandom and it is not fun to predict players to potentially disappoint the fans (although I have done it before).

The fact of the matter is that some players will reach that ceiling, others will disappoint. Some players are easy to predict, others are more volatile as they could realistically hit either that floor or ceiling.

There are three players on the Los Angeles Lakers roster who are particularly volatile.

The ceiling and the floor are so vastly different for each of these players and it is impossible to predict how each player will perform either way. There is a chance that all three players play to the best of their ability and all three play to their floors.

It could also change quickly during the season as well. These players could start hot and fizzle out or could start cold and heat up for when the games really start to matter.
